WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN BONDING SOMEONE OUT

The premium for a bail bond in the State of Tennessee is 10% for an in-state resident, and 15% for an out of state resident. There is also a one time $25.00 bond fee and a one-time bail tax that we collect for the State of Tennessee of $12.00. So as an example, for an in-state resident with a bond set at $5000.00 it would cost $500.00 plus the $25.00 bond fee and $12.00 state bail tax for a total of $537.00.  For an out of state resident, it would cost $750.00 plus the $25.00 bond fee, and $12.00 state bail tax for a total of $787.00. We accept cash and all major credit cards for the bond premium. Finance terms are available for larger bonds at 0% interest.
On most bonds we expect the defendant to have a Co-Signer (also called Co-Indemnitor, or Co-Principal) on the bond. The Co-Signer is financially responsible for the defendant appearing at all their court dates. If the defendant becomes a bail skip or runner and tries to abscond from justice, the Co-Signer could be responsible for any costs associated with apprehending the defendant, or even the entire face value of the bond if the court orders a final forfeiture on the bond. A Co-Signer is required to have a Tennessee ID and preferably be employed.
When you come to bail someone out of jail, it is best to have as much of the person's information as possible. When you arrive to post the bail, in addition to the bail premium due, you will be asked for information that goes on our bail contract, this includes the defendant's information as well as close family members.
